In any case, here are some things that have been happening around the Halvorsen household lately:
- We are both getting ready to finish up our semesters, and are trying to plan some semblance of summer travel to see family, in spite of the crazy costs of going anywhere by plane, train or automobile...
- Today we're planning on getting rid of Luke's Saab, which is a little bit sad but also a big relief, since we'll be making at least a little cash, getting rid of the insurance bill, and saving any maintenance costs (which, considering the car hasn't run the past two winters, were likely to be considerable). We'll miss the sportier of our two cars, but the Avalon just happens to be the more practical one, and we just don't need two cars right now
- We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our first fresh veggies and meat in June, from our CSA share (Community Supported Agriculture). Like I said before, I'll share more sometime soon. It will be an adventure in cooking, that's for sure. It rained here the other day, and we were able to appreciate that maybe "our" crops were benefiting from it-which I think is a pretty cool thing, considering that I normally feel so detached from where our food is coming from.
- Last weekend we got to spend some time with Luke's sister, Britt, and her friend who came to visit friends in Chicago for the weekend. We expected to only be able to have lunch with her on Saturday, but they ended up staying here on Saturday night, so we got to spend some extra time with them!
By the way, the new picture on my heading is a picture Luke took in Japan on our trip TWO years ago! I can't believe it's been that long. Looking at the pictures made me want to travel again so badly...some day...
