My First Successful Plant

I don't have a green thumb. Not at all. Is there such a thing as a brown thumb?

When we were home for Thanksgiving, my grandma gave us an amaryllis bulb. I took it home with low expectations (after many failed plants), and was delighted to find this beauty when we arrived home after Christmas with Luke's family:

In over a month, I watered the thing once. Other than that, it was kept by a window, and staked. This is my kind of plant: low maintenance and big result.

I can relate to your brown thumb. I, too, kill everything. I even killed bamboo - and that's a feat! :)
