Even though it is only March 11, we've already celebrated her birthday twice!
Last weekend, Jamie's mom was in town. You may not know this about Mrs. Page, but back in the days when the Pages lived in Alaska, she worked at a Baskin-Robbins (apparently Alaskans eat the most ice cream per capita-who knew??). So, needless to say, she is an expert when it comes to ice cream cakes. Saturday night, in a matter of minutes, she assembled a layered ice cream cake, and stuck it in the freezer for Sunday.
On Sunday, after church and lunch at Giordano's (Mmm...), we came back to our apartment for a pre-birthday celebration, so that Mrs. Page could celebrate with Jamie. One of her presents was a book about animals. Jamie was able to look straight at the snake page. A big step!
Notice though, that she's not touching it.
And then we had the delicious ice cream cake!
As for her birthday weekend, Jamie was not very helpful in giving out ideas of what she wanted to do. The only answer she would give was, "I want to go to Hawaii." So, Marit and I decided that we would do the best we could with that in Chicago. We found a tiki-themed bar, and got together a group of friends.
It was a good time, and we managed to escape just as some really creepy people were coming out of the woodwork.
Happy Birthday Jaim! I am lucky to have you as a friend and roommate!
