Christmas Break, Part III

After opening our gifts and making it about halfway through a game of Monopoly, we drove over to my aunt and Rob's house. Auntie and Rob with their new fireplace

Dinner was fantastic (we have prime rib and stuffed shrimp on Christmas), and for dessert we had, among other things, leftover wedding cake-from the freezer of course. It looked like it was 7 months old, but I have to say that it still tasted pretty good!

Later that night, Luke and I got into our new matching pajama pants and settled in for a rousing game of Taboo with my mom and aunt.

The next day (and our last in CT), my grandparents treated us to lunch at Lenny & Joe's, a seafood restaurant we've been eating at as long as I can remember. It quickly became a place that Luke looks forward to visiting whenever we are in CT.

We made a quick stop down by the shore, to see the beach where my grandparents rent a cottage for all of us to stay at for a week every summer. It is always fun to see it during different seasons, and see how the tide has changed it.

The rest of the day was pretty low key-playing some more Taboo and finishing our game of Monopoly. My aunt came over in the evening for a few rounds of video game car racing with Luke and my mother. It was amusing, to say the least.

We left for Chicago again early, early the next morning. It was such a great trip home with a lot of relaxing and quality time with my family.
