Kathy's Visit

The week after Britt and Brooke were here, Luke ended up not being scheduled to work at all. Since we had been hoping to paint our apartment, but didn't know whether we would have a chance before we both started school, we decided that that week would be a good week.

Kathy, Luke's mom, had volunteered to come help us when we decided to paint, so we gave her a call to see whether she would be able to get time off of work the next week. Lucky for us, she was!

So, on Wednesday night, Kathy arrived and we got to work. On Thursday it was just Luke and Kathy, but I took Friday off to help out, and we spent the weekend hard at work.
I'll save the "after" pictures for later, because Luke and I are still working on the trim, so nothing is quite back to normal, but here are some "before" pictures:

The living room-

The dining room-
The hallway-

The kitchen-
We were so grateful for Kathy's help, and luckily we had a break on Friday night, when we saw Nickel Creek (and Fiona Apple-who's a little crazy if you ask me) at Ravinia. It was a nice break from the painting, and a good chance to relax.

Stay tuned for the "after" painting pictures...

you were so wise to take the "before" pictures. we didn't do that. oh well.

the near-final product looked great--can't wait to see it once the trim is done.

and i'm envious that you got to go hear nickel creek at ravinia. i haven't been yet this summer, and i've always wanted to hear them live. :(
