Now that school is out for me, and work has slowed down considerably for Luke, we have had some time to decorate the apartment and get in the holiday spirit.
The cats have also demonstrated enthusiasm for the season, and have been thoroughly enjoying our decorations.

What, you haven't heard about the giant cat who
came to see the baby Jesus with the three wisemen?

Rita caught in the act
Bellah has especially enjoyed the Christmas tree. We assumed that the cats would have a hard time climbing the tree since, well, it's not a real tree with bark and sturdy branches and such.
We were wrong.
While we were sitting watching a movie one night, we heard a rustling from the tree. We looked over and saw Bellah sitting, about four feet up in the tree, her head poking out like a huge fuzzy ornament.

Here is our tree, just for some perspective on where she was. At the highest, Bellah climbed up to just above the tin heart, toward the middle of our tree in this picture (you can click on it to enlarge it if you'd like).

We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that our tree remains standing while we are away in Connecticut!
